What is pleasing to God

What is pleasing to God

Romans 14:13 Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister.  14:14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean. 14:15 For if your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat,  you are no longer walking in love.  Do not destroy by your food someone for whom Christ died. 14:16 Therefore do not let what you consider good  be spoken of as evil. 14:17 For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 14:18 For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.

Thinking outside of the Box - A prayer for the new year

Prayer of Manasseh
We serve a God ,who is the God of one who repents.

1 O Lord Almighty, God of our ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their righteous descendants,2 you who created heaven and earth with all their orderly arrangement,3 who shackled the sea by the word of your command, who closed up the abyss and sealed it by your awesome and glorious name; 4 at whose powerall things shudder and tremble, 5 for your glorious magnificence is unbearable, and the wrath of your threat against sinners cannot be resisted.6 Yet your promised mercy cannot be measured or scrutinized. 7 For you are the Lord Most High, compassionate, longsuffering, and extremely merciful, and relenting at human misfortunes.
Confession of Sin

8 Therefore, O Lord God of the righteous, you have not appointed repentance for the righteous, such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who have not sinned against you, but you have appointed repentance to me a sinner.9 Because my sins outnumber the sand of the sea; my lawless acts have increased, O Lord, they have increased, and I am not worthy to gaze upon or to see the height of heaven due to the multitude of my unrighteous acts. 10 I am bent over by the weight of many an iron bond; consequently I am ready to give up because of my sins. I have no rest, because I have provoked your wrath and have committed evil in your sight, erecting increasing the number of idols.

Appeal for Forgiveness

11 So now I bow, begging for your kindness.12 I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, and I fully recognize my lawless acts. 13 I sincerely beseech you: forgive me, O Lord, forgive me! Please do not destroy me along with my lawless acts! Do not bear a grudge forever against me and thereby store up calamities for me. Do not sentence me to the lowest parts of the earth. For you, O Lord, are the God of those who repent. 14 May you demonstrate your goodness in me. For although I am unworthy you will deliver me by your great mercy. 15 And I will praise you continually all the days of my life. For all the powers of heaven sing praises to you.
Doxology

And yours is the glory forever.Amen.

I do not always agree with the Apocrypha, yet this may be a exemption

The life stile within the tent.

 Rebuilding the tent of David
Acts 15:16 After this I will return and I will rebuild the fallen tent of David;
I will rebuild its ruins and restore  it, 15:17 so that the rest of humanity may seek the Lord,
namely, all the GentilesI have called to be my own,’ the Lord
who makes these things 15:18 knownfrom long ago.
15:19 “Therefore I conclude  that we should not cause extra difficulty  for those among the Gentiles who are turning to God, 15:20 but that we should write them a letter  telling them to abstain  from things defiled  by idols and from sexual immorality and from what has been strangled  and from blood.

Question does the dreams visions that we proclaim cause extra difficulty too the Kingdom of God?

A far better name

A far better name

Hebrews 1:1 After God spoke long ago in various portions  and in various ways to our ancestors  through the prophets, 1:2 in these last days he has spoken to us in a son,  whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.  1:3 The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.  1:4 Thus he became  so far better than the angels as  he has inherited a name superior to theirs.

God called us

1Thessalonians

A Life Pleasing to God

4:1 Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how you must live and please God (as you are in fact living) that you do so more and more. 4:2 For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 4:3 For this is God’s will: that you become holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality, 4:4 that each of you know how to possess his own body in holiness and honor, 4:5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God. 4:6 In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly. 4:7 For God did not call us to impurity but in holiness.

What should our actions be in 2010

What should our actions be in 2010

John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me,  believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves. 14:12 I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds  that I am doing,  and will perform  greater deeds  than these, because I am going to the Father. 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name,so that the Father may be glorified  in the Son. 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Mark 16:15  He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16:16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned. 16:17 These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.” 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 16:20 They went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs

Acts 2:17 ‘And in the last days it will be,’ God says,
‘that I will pour out my Spirit on all people,
and your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
and your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.
2:18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
2:19 And I will perform wonders in the sky above
and miraculous signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and clouds of smoke.
2:20 The sun will be changed to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
2:21 And then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

What too expect for 2010

When we see biblical change this is what we can expect .

Compare this with Jer 29 and we see that God delights to deliver His Childern. Jer 29:4 see the comparison.

29:4 “The Lord God of Israel who rules over all 8 says to all those he sent  into exile to Babylon from Jerusalem,  29:5 ‘Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what they produce. 29:6 Marry and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons and allow your daughters get married so that they too can have sons and daughters. Grow in number; do not dwindle away. 29:7 Work to see that the city where I sent you as exiles enjoys peace and prosperity. Pray to the Lord for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

Mark 10: 28 And Peter began to say to him, `Lo, we left all, and we followed thee.' 29 And Jesus answering said, `Verily I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my sake, and for the good news', 30 who may not receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecutions, and in the age that is coming, life age-during; 31 and many first shall be last, and the last first.'

If you would like take a look at the following scriptures, they lay the foundation for what is being said.

10:30 = 2Ch 25:9; Ps 84:11; Pr 3:9,10; Pr 16:16; Mal 3:10; Mt 5:11,12; Mt 13:44-46; Lu 18:30; Joh 10:23; Joh 16:22,23; Ac 5:41; Ac 16:25; Ro 5:3; Ro 6:23; 2Co 6:10; 2Co 9:8-11; Php 3:8; 2Th 2:16; 1Ti 6:6; Jas 1:2-4,12; Jas 5:11; 1Pe 4:12-16; 1Jo 2:25; 1Jo 3:1; Re 2:9; Re 3:18

Understanding Biblical Change, Part 2

God is not slow concerning His promises.

God does not see Change like we do for one reason notice 2 Peter 3:9 This is not just a New Testiment thought, Ps 90:4

Ps90:4
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

2 Peter 3:8
Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice,  that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day. 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise,  as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish  for any  to perish but for all to come to repentance.

The perfect mission statement.

As we start the new year, just think about how this year is the acceptable year of the Lord as well as the next.

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

What does Jesus Christ have that other's do not

What are we thankfull for?
The life issues that we are facing, or our relationship with our Hevenly Father.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created , that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist . 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence . 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell ; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Col 1:12-20,  KJV

What are you looking for.

What are we looking for. The strength of the Lord, or our opponents.
What we do not see allot of times is the strength of the Lord, when we deal with life issues.

Isa 41:10  next bible
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you!
Don’t be frightened, for I am your God!
I strengthen you –
yes, I help you –yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!
41:11 Look, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and humiliated;
your adversarieswill be reduced to nothing  and perish.
41:12 When you will look for your opponents,  you will not find them; your enemies  will be reduced to absolutely nothing.
41:13 For I am the Lord your God,
the one who takes hold of your right hand,
who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’

What are we thankful for?

Do not take the vicitory we have in Christ for granted. Inspite of the life issues we are going through.
Also do not let life issues bring us to a place of doubting who Christ is as Lord and God.

I  Tim 2:1-8
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authorityb; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

All the pomises of God

When is the last time we have looked at the Old and New testament and realized that all God's promises are for today. I would start at Dt 28 and as we make ourselves accountable to the word of God take a look at DT 28:13 on and  ask what am I not hearing?

A False Victory?

A false victory?

In praying for our nation, USA, I see us settling into the notion that politics will change the nation, our make Change. It will  always go in a anti Christ worldview and direction no mater what party is in charge some times change will be fastor than other.
We as Paul in the book of acts Hs Roman citizenship to protect Himself and Church. We should use are citizenship to protect ourselfs and the Church using our rights as well .

Yet bottom line, is are we seeking first His kingdom, applying kingdom principles too our lives.

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When disciplines fall apart.

When disciplines fall apart.

My keys are I journal, I start where I left oft and I do not mentally beat myself up when things fall apart. Let thoughts of defeat or failure set in.

He cares for us

I have been singing “Just a little talk with Jesus”.
It’s a good thing when we can just set back and talk to the Lord about everything and cast our cares opon Him. Look at How much He cares for us.

Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.

Is our Praise real

As Paul talked about  how just as Faith is now, we also need to understand that Praise is also now. Biblical Praise always brings us to a place of fearing God.
When was the last time you were confronted with Godly fear?
Is our Praise real? Are you being drawn to Him or away from Him? Tough questions, but review Psalms 34.

An attitude of Praise

When we talk about Praise, Praise is more than an attitude it is apart of how we know God.
He is everywhere and we are known by Him.
We may not deal with an army like Gideon, but we do face issuse that are just as strong. We need to acknowledge what we are facing then develop a way to deal with it. Praising God for who He is in the midst of victory.

Philipians 4
5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Angels

Ps 34

6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Take a look at the great promises of this verse, but see the condition.

The reason for Praise, drawing attention to His Glory

Psalms 34 KJV

1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: F101 and their faces were not ashamed.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Our praise shall continually be in our mouths, the lions we face will lack, the Lord hears when we cry too the Lord, He delivers from our fears, prasie is a part of us seeking the Lord and we shall not have lack.

A Biblical Dictonary meaning of Praise

I know this is wordy, but this helps define praise.'s
Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology, edited for blog points
Praise [N] [T]
Praise, mostly of God, is a frequent theme in the psalms, the Hebrew title of which is "Praises." Yet praise is a theme that pervades the whole of Scripture. Genesis 1 is indirect praise; direct praise is found in hymns scattered throughout the books of Exodus, 2 Samuel, Isaiah, Daniel, Ephesians, and Revelation. Words that are often used as synonyms or in parallel with "praise, " and so help point to its meaning, are "bless, " "exalt, " "extol, " "glorify, " "magnify, " "thank, " and "confess." To praise God is to call attention to his glory. In the light of this calling to praise God, the oft-declared intention, "I will praise you, O God, " and the exhortations for others to praise God take on additional meaning. In giving oneself to praise the worshiper declares his or her total alignment with God's purposes. The environment of those gathering for worship, judged by such admonitions, was one of lavish praise to God. Since God is holy and fully good, God is not to be faulted, as some do, for requiring praise of himself. Praise is fitting for what is the highest good, God himself. Praise is both a duty and a delight (Psalm 63:3-8).
Reasons for Praising God. In addition to being the fulfillment of a calling, praise is prompted by other considerations, chief of which is the unique nature of God (1 Chron 29:10-13). One genre of the psalms, the hymns, is characterized by an initial summons, such as "Praise the Lord, " which is followed by a declaration of praise, introduced by the word "for, " which lists the grounds for offering praise, often God's majesty and mercy. The shortest psalm (117), a hymn, offers a double reason for praise: God's merciful kindness (loyal love) is great, and his truth endures forever. Other hymns point out that God is good (Ezra 3:10-11; Psalm 100:5; 135:3), or that his ordinances are just (Psalm 119:164), that he remembers his covenant (Psalm 105:7-8), that his love is enduring (Ps. 136), or that he is incomparable (Psalm 71:19). The biblical examples of praise to God, apart from citing his attributes and role, point to God's favors, usually those on a large scale in behalf of Israel. A hymn in the Isaiah collection exhorts, "Sing praise to the Lord for his glorious achievement" (Isa 12:5; nab ). Exhortations to praise are sometimes followed by a catalogue of God's actions in Israel's behalf (Neh 9:5; Psalm 68:4-14). God's most spectacular action involves the incarnation of Jesus, an event heralded in praises by angels in the heavens and shepherds returning to their fields: "Glory to God in the highest" (Luke 2:14,20). Praise is the legitimate response to God's self-revelation. Personal experiences of God's deliverance and favor also elicit praise (Psalm 34; 102:18; 107; cf. Dan 2:20-23; Rom 7:25; the healed paralytic, Luke 5:25; Zechariah, Luke 1:68; the response at Nain, Luke 7:16; and Jesus himself, Matt 11:25).
The Bible speaks also of persons praising or commending others (Gen 12:15; 49:8; Prov 31:28, 30; 2 Cor 8:18). However, it counsels, even warns, about the giving and receiving of praise lest it be for the wrong reasons or be misconstrued (Psalm 49:18; Prov 12:8; 27:2, 21; John 5:44).
Unquestionably the Book of the Psalms is centerpiece for any discussion about praise. In it the believer's vocation to praise is wonderfully modeled, so that even laments (one-third of all the psalms) contain elements of praise. As a book of praises, the psalms build to a remarkable crescendo of praise (Pss. 145-150), in which all creatures are summoned to incessant praise of God, as are the stars and planets in the heavens, and even the angels.

When things do not work

Hi

Have you ever had plains that do not work?

We all have!

So what do we do - Trust, stand, acknowledge, enjoy the journey.

Why trust, it is the first step of knowing the Lord as savour we know we are saved by faith, just as we know we are saved the struggle becomes trusting in the Lord for every day- moment needs.

A method I use is, I place the need in my hands and give that issue back to the Lord, some times it moment by moment. Then I have come to understand that until death or the coming of the Lord takes place "Rapture" time is one my side.

Stand, Paul talks about in Eph 6 that after we have done all stand. Some times we can change a moment, but do we trust the God who loves us to give us peace and rest we need in the midst of that moment, as we turn everything over to him.

Then I acknowledge the need. I look at all the facts, some times I even write the pro and cons down then I have torn it up and given it to the Lord. But at other times I take the pros and cons and use that to make the best decision possible.

The hard point is to "count it all joy", but it is possible, take a look at the Gospel's for example
everything written about what Jesus did was to show us that "We can do all things through Christ that strengthen us" See John 14-16:33

Faith is a journey, Paul said in Hebrews 11 faith is now. So take pleasure in the now. Not creating issues that shouldn't be created, but see were other's have failed and using them as biblical examples, Abram, Gideon, Samson, David and other's see how they recived Gods mercy, letting God apply this same mercy to our lives.

A Start

Good Morning

This Blog is designed to help a person come into a relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ.
I am a member of the church of God clev. tn see http://www.churchofgod.org/ I also work with http://www.nogreaterlove.org/ both ministries have played a important roles in my life.
I came to know Jesus Christ as Lord, back in 1974, He is very real to me.
A look Basics
God is with you Mt 1:23 "and they shall call his name Emanuel, which is interpreted is, God is with us.
Just think about it God is with us no matter what the issue is. Just as we mention His name.
Jesus.
One thing I would like for you to do today to take that need you have take that issue and just give to the Lord.
Paul wrote in Philippians chapter 4 verse 6 in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.
So lets thank Him for being with us and that He is in control of that need.
