What have we Forgotten

Psalm 103

By David.
103:1 Praise the Lord, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise his holy name!
103:2 Praise the Lord, O my soul!Do not forget all his kind deeds!
103:3 He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases,
103:4 who delivers your life from the Pit,who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion,
103:5 who satisfies your life with good things,so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.
103:6 The Lord does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed.
103:7 The Lord revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites.
103:8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful;he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.

The Rules are completely Reliable

Psalm 93

93:1 The Lord reigns! He is robed in majesty, the Lord is robed,
he wears strength around his waist. Indeed, the world is established, it cannot be moved.
93:2 Your throne has been secure from ancient times; you have always been king.
93:3 The waves roar, O Lord, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash.
93:4 Above the sound of the surging water, and the mighty waves of the sea,
the Lord sits enthroned in majesty.
93:5 The rules you set down are completely reliable. Holiness aptly adorns your house, O Lord, forever.

The Greatness of God, The reliability of Gods Word

Psalms 19

For the music director; a psalm of David.

Netbible 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God;the sky displays his handiwork.
19:2 Day after day it speaks out;night after night it reveals his greatness.
19:3 There is no actual speech or word, nor is its voice literally heard.
19:4 Yet its voice echoes throughout the earth; its words carry to the distant horizon.
In the sky he has pitched a tent for the sun.
19:5 Like a bridegroom it emerges from its chamber;like a strong man it enjoys running its course.
19:6 It emerges from the distant horizon, and goes from one end of the sky to the other;
nothing can escape its heat.
19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect and preserves one’s life.
The rules set down by the Lord are reliable and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.
19:8 The Lord’s precepts are fair and make one joyful. The Lord’s commands are pure
and give insight for life

Back Ground Noise

Back Ground Noise

At work, I have allot of down time. So I play the word of God in the back ground  on CD'S with Romans 10; 17 being the intent "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing cometh by the word of God". What I have noticed, is over the years. Is at times the voice on the CD is like back ground noise. I become focused on something else rather than or Fathers word. Secondly, I do my devotionals at home; a Proverb a day and starting with the Old Testament three chapter's a day with five on Sunday. If I mess a day I strart were I left off. But the question that is developing is is the word of God becoming “back ground noise” .  Going through the motions yet not listening to what is read or said.

The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd
John 10:7 netbible, So Jesus said to them again, “I tell you the solemn truth, I am the door for the sheep. 10:8 All who came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 10:12 The hired hand, who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and runs away. So the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them. 10:13 Because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep, he runs away.

A different Look

Have you ever tried to tie things together? Like shoe strings, sailing knot’s! When I look at Matthew 16:19, I first thought that this said as an example “Satan, I bind you from me in Jesus name”. As I get older in the Lord, I find that this meaning a “bind too”  is a more accurate translation rather than binding from. An example would be tying someone up or binding things together. The Old Testament word was used to “Bind” to bind  God’s word to us.

So something to think about Luke 11:13 If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” So lets acknowledging the Holy Spirit and bind Him to us as we study our Father’s word, binding the Holy Spirit to a ministry or personal event. This does not take away of God moving has He will's, but keeps things within the confinds of the authority of the Word of God.

I learned this in praying for open air meetings, walking the area, binding the Holy Spirit power there for Salvation, deliverance, Healing, Holy Spirit Baptism, gifts of the Spirit. I then began to develop this in to other areas, quite time, work, home and it seems to work well. I know He is everywhere, and this acknowledgement reminds me that He is a part of my personal life as well.

Matthew 16:13 netbible, When Jesus came to the area of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 16:14 They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 16:15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16:16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 16:17 And Jesus answered him, “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven! 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.” 16:20 Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

Going through a battle, Something to think about

Something to think about

Isaiah 43: 1. And now, so said the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and the One Who formed you, O Israel, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you, and I called by your name, you are Mine. 2. When you pass through water, I am with you, and in rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you go amidst fire, you shall not be burnt, neither shall a flame burn amongst you.

The reason

The Reason
Philippians 2:6 netbible, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,2:7 but emptied himselfby taking on the form of a slave,by looking like other men,and by sharing in human nature.2:8 He humbled himself,by becoming obedient to the point of death– even death on a cross! 2:9 As a result God exalted him and gave him the namethat is above every name, 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow– in heaven and on earth and under the earth – 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

I know this is long, It is not mine - Fasting-

  Gen 15, 1 Sam 7:6, 2 Chron 7:14, Isa 58, Joel 1, Jonah 3, Mark 2, 9:29, Luke 2, Acts 9:10–12, Heb 11

Sermon Sharpening the Axe Is Never a Waste of Time

Gen 15, 1 Sam 7:6, 2 Chron 7:14, Isa 58, Joel 1, Jonah 3, Mark 2, 9:29, Luke 2, Acts 9:10–12, Heb 11
Sharpening the Axe Is Never A Waste of Time

December 30, 2007 – PPHC (Corporate Fasting called by Bishop Leggett)
Purpose #1: Repentance
“And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.” 1 Samuel 7:6
Jonah 3;
A. Corporate Repentance Needed Today
1. Indicators of needed repentance include:· Our present lack of effectivenessThe quagmire of denominational bureaucracy· The apathy of church membership  The ascendant attitudes of many leaders
The rising tide of darkness
2. Requires both inward and outward breaking.
a. This means fasting should be the order of the day
b. Still the leading statement of God’s promise of restoration…2 Chronicles 7:14. ·
· “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
c. Our humility can be demonstrated by answering the call of God to fast.
Purpose #2: Readiness
Luke 2; Mark 2 A. Fasting and Prayer Positions the Heart 1. Enables one to recognize the Lord’s visitation.
· Simeon and Anna…recognized the day, the Babe before them…aware by the Spirit.
2. Prepares one for Christ’s next arrival…His second coming.
· Are you lovesick enough for the Bridegroom that you would do without eating rather than miss His visitation?
Purpose #3: Revelation
“And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, 12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.” Acts 9:10-12
A. Directions Needed for Millions of Christians
1. Yesterday’s light has faded, and the gleam of tomorrow’s promise is not yet in sight.
a. We are disoriented by our darkness and desperate for direction.
2. The discipline of fasting and prayer prepares our hearts to receive God’s direction.
a. When we fast, our spiritual eyes see clearer than usual.
b. Spiritual sensitivity escalates, and we are more receptive to God’s directives
3. Anticipation for answered prayer also rises during seasons of fasting
a. Making us ready to receive revelation.
· “Due to our lack of revelation and connection with heaven, people are out of position throughout the church. What would happen if we decided to stop simply marching on and waited on the Lord, giving ourselves to a season of intense intercession for illumination?” Billy Wilson
Purpose #4: Release
A. Brings Spiritual Release to Those That are Bound
· Mk. 9 – Dumb and Deaf spirit…disciples unable to make it leave the child – (v 29) “And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”
· The Prophet Isaiah states emphatically that the fast God has chosen includes: (Is. 58)
Loosening the bands of wickedness Undoing heavy burdens Letting the oppressed go free
Breaking every yoke
“If John Wesley was even partially correct when he stated: “God does nothing but in answer to prayer,” the church has a huge responsibility to seek God’s face diligently until God’s end-time promises are actualized…” Billy Wilson
· We need to pray and fast until people are released.
Purpose #5: Restoration
Joel 1, 2
A. Today’s Church Desperately Needs Restoration
1. Divorce rates, depression and other struggles are just as prevalent in the churched as they are among the unchurched.
· “As the homosexual agenda advances, pluralistic mindsets increase, filth fills the airwaves, and confusion controls both classroom and courtroom, the church’s voice is preoccupied with internal struggles.” From the pulpit to the pew, we’ve been “…devoured by armies of invisible locusts that have eaten away at our fruitfulness.” Billy Wilson
· Is it not time to blow the trumpet, sound an alarm and sanctify a fast to undo the damage of today’s invisible locusts?
Purpose #6: Reward
Hebrews 11; Genesis 15
A. Fasting Helps Us Focus On Our Primary Goal
1. God promises that he will reward those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6b).
a. Answered prayer, supernatural peace, divine love and earthly blessings in a variety of forms all qualify as rewards.
2. Scripture assures us that the greatest reward is the Lord
· God’s promise to Abram can be claimed as our own. He becomes our great reward.(Gen. 15:1) Himself.
· The singular desire of knowing God and beholding his beauty will help us crossed the finish line without stumbling.Resources:

One on One the Call of the Disciples

Notice how family member's, business partner's are called first into the Kingdom.
The Call of the Disciples

Luke  netbible, 5:1 Now Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing around him to hear the word of God. 5:2 He saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets. 5:3 He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then Jesus sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. 5:4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” 5:5 Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets.” 5:6 When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. 5:7 So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink. 5:8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!” 5:9 For Peter and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 5:10 and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s business partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.” 5:11 So when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed him.

The Lord Is

The Lord Is

Ps 25:8 Netbible,  The Lord is both kind and fair; that is why he teaches sinners the right way to live.
25:9 May he show the humble what is right! May he teach the humble his way!
25:10 The Lord always proves faithful and reliable to those who follow the demands of his covenant

How are we walking

How are we walking

1 John 2:3 netbible. Now  by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments. 2:4 The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person. 2:5 But whoever obeys his  word, truly in this person  the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him. 2:6 The one who says he resides in God  ought himself to walk  just as Jesus  walked.

Jesus is the Christ

Jesus is the Christ

1 John 4:1  netbible, Dear friends, do not believe every spirit,  but test the spirits to determine  if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God, 4:3 but every spirit that does not confess  Jesus  is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world.

Whom do we have fellowhip with

Who do we have fellowship with?

1 John 1:5 Next,  Now  this is the gospel  message  we have heard from him  and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking  in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing  the truth. 1:7 But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses  us from all sin. 1:8 If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin,we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1:9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous,  forgiving  us our sins and cleansing  us from all unrighteousness. 1:10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.

Are you playing games

When was the last time you asked the Lord to fill you with His spirit have you accepted the challenge?
Our are you playing games

Ephesians 5:15 net bible, Therefore be very careful how you live – not as unwise but as wise, 5:16 taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 5:17 For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise by understanding what the Lord’s will is. 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit, 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord, 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for each other in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5:21 and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Luke 11:13 MSG As bad as you are, you wouldn't think of such a thing--you're at least decent to your own children. And don't you think the Father who conceived you in love will give the Holy Spirit when you ask him?"

Saturday, January 2, 2010

As a young boy in 1974, I came to a understanding that Jesus is Lord when I read the New testament through in a three month time frame, while living in Madisonville Ky, before a Evangelistic crusade by Nicky Cruse. I was currently attending a Methodist Church and becoming active in the youth group. Before this I was reading books on ESP as well as studying the occult when a friend of mind told me how inconsistent ESP is this started my visited to the Methodist Church and created a desire for reading the New Testament. Before the crusade on the Friday afternoon while I was riding my bicycle I heard a voice speaking to me “ My Son You have never made a public confession to me”.  That night after Nicky Cruse spoke I responded to what we call the alter call meaning walking forward responding to the question.  If you want to make Jesus Lord of your life come forward and ask Him into your Heart. That night I did so and my life has never been the same since.  Would you like this to happen to you?
Note the voice was never meant to save me but brought me to a place of obedience making Jesus Lord of my life making me born again. This is one of many ways convection brings us to a place where Jesus is as Lord. When I speak of ways, He is the only way to heaven.

Being in the right place.

I have been reading Jeremiah chapter’s 29 to the end of the book. As I have been praying for the New Year I keep seeing a similarity between what God was saying to Israel and what the Lord is saying to us today.

Allot of what we are facing is seasonal, yet Jeremiah is a good metaphor for us today. With Babylon attacking Israel, God was saying too them, I am with you, God will defend us, we will return to the Land. This happened because the Children of Israel was not taught how to hear and obey our Father’s word and the leadership did not respect it as well. Take a look at when Jeholakim burned the scroll see how disrespectfull He was. It was this lack of repentance and disrespect for God's word that brought judgment upon Israel. The basic element was Israel going too Babylon instead of Egypt, God using Babylon too protect Israel.  As Israel would be in Babylon for 70 years  giving the land of Israel rest, with Israel returning to the land.

This typology is interesting because of all the life issues we are facing, I seem to be dealing the same issues. God is saying, I am with you, He will defend us, we will return to the land (all the promises of God can be applyed to our lives today). Yet due too life presures we are not wanting to acknowledge His word and promises too our lives. It is this lack of trust  that appears to have puts us in a place we do not need to be in.

John 16:33 MSG I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I've conquered the world."
